As part of the NORDPLUS / Nordic Languages project “Discover Iceland and Sweden”, two online workshops took place on October 27, 2022. During the first one, a team from Lithuania - high school students and their teachers from Vilnius Karoliniškių Gymnasium met their colleagues – students from Tækniskólinn, the biggest vocational school in Iceland. The second one, high school students from Panevėžys Vytautas Žemkalnis Gymnasium who are learning Swedish or plan to learn it in the future met young people from Sweden.
During the workshop, the participants were briefed on the project, its progress and achievements. They also had an opportunity to present their schools and themselves, which they did in a particularly fun way – by presenting their favorite Icelandic / Swedish word and explaining why do they like it.
The events culminated in fun quizzes prepared by the students themselves: Lithuanian teams created quizzes about Sweden and Iceland for Icelandic and Swedish teams, while the latter came up with the quizzes for Lithuanians on Lithuania.
Both events were a great fun and success. We believe that contacts and friendships will be established between the participating institutions and among the participants.
