On 26 September 2024, an international online seminar for Lithuanian and Danish youth was held as part of the NORDPLUS / Nordic Languages project "Let's Get to Know Denmark and Finland," designed to promote interculturalism and dedicated to celebrating the European Day of Languages. The event was organized by the project partners Soros International House, Lithuania and BrainLog, Denmark.
The seminar began with an introductory game where each participant introduced and illustrated an animal or plant whose name starts with the first letter of their own name in their native language.
A special atmosphere was created by fun interactive quizzes about the most interesting cultural peculiarities and differences, as well as language usage in Lithuania and Denmark. The Lithuanian team, represented by students from Vilnius Karoliniškės Gymnasium, prepared a quiz for the Danish youth about Lithuania, and the latter prepared one about Denmark for the Lithuanians.
By the end of the seminar, the young participants felt enriched not only with new knowledge but also with a deeper intercultural understanding, which will encourage successful future cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic regions.
